I tell everyone that considers UNT, "UNT is extremely diverse and community oriented!". My personal favorite part about this school is the sense of community, and I have had the privilege of speaking to hundreds of students through my TikTok account, about how this is the best part of UNT. Another thing I love is how UNT is a top school for creatives and it really shines through the student body! Through fashion, art, graphic design, and more, UNT is set apart. The downside is the location (even though that cannot be changed), As well as, I wish greek life was more important. Additionally, I wish football was more important as well. That being said, I still back my school... even if its not comparable to an SEC

For a public state school, the energy feels more private. I found a closer-knit group of students to be there and many programs that helped the student body. I also love Denton, TX. It has an Austin feel without the overwhelming size and cost of Austin living. There are lots of different programs and I hopped between many and found enriching content and education in all of the majors I tried. The housing was tight and limited especially as you moved from a freshman to an upperclassman. The scholarship opportunities are great and overall, I am very happy with my undergrad experience at the University of North Texas.

Four years ago I would’ve told everyone that UNT is a very good option especially if they’re in a program UNT is known for. That is no longer the case, and the school has gone downhill a lot since Covid. UNT started heavily over enrolling students to the point our acceptance jumped to 80%. Way past the amount of students we have space for so there’s impossible traffic, they sold 6000 parking passes for only 2000 spots, and all upperclassmen were kicked out of housing. The dropout and turnover rate has risen so much, and it can take over an hour to park. Lots of really good staff are leaving due to them underpaying employees, so the quality of professors in even their best programs are dropping. The over enrollment has drastically affected Denton rent prices and overpopulation of the town as well. The traffic is awful and roads poorly maintained on campus and off. It’s just getting worse every semester they over-enroll. If I knew this was going to happen I would’ve gone somewhere else.
