NCIS: Hawai’i was sadly canceled after Season 3, and the fact that the show was canceled without any forewarning was obvious in the final minutes of the Season 3 finale. Now, the showrunners are finally breaking the silence about what would have happened in NCIS: Hawai’i Season 4, if they’ve gotten to keep going.

What Would’ve Happened in NCIS: Hawai’i Season 4, According to Showrunner
Jan Nash, Christopher Silber, and Matt Bosack spoke to TVLine about their plans for Season 4 of the show, and how they would have picked up the storytelling threads from Season 3 and, in particular, resolved the cliffhanger involving Maggie Shaw.
“While not fully fleshed out, we had a general idea of where the Maggie story was going. It would have eventually intersected with Jane Tennant’s mother, but it was also going to move back into the dark world of Tennant’s spy past, using those stories to increase our understanding of who Jane was, but also to learn more about her team in the process,” they said, showcasing an intention to tie Shaw’s storyline to Tennant’s mother, who she saw in a vision on Season 3, Episode 7 titled “The Next Thousand.”

But plans for Season 4 didn’t just revolve around Tennant. There were also plans to revisit the wedding talk Lucy Tara and Kate Whistler had in Season 3, Episode 4 “Dead on Arrival.”
“We hadn’t fully landed on what was going to happen in Season 4. But there would have been some movement. Whether it would have been a wedding, meeting families, or some other thing, we didn’t know.”
The showrunners also shared that there were plans to introduce Jesse’s wife Heather Boone and his other kid, as well as go into Ernie’s ex-wife and continue to explore the chemistry between Vanessa Lachey and NCIS: LA‘s LL Cool J, who had joined the cast for Season 3. But alas, NCIS: Hawai’i ended up on the chopping block, despite very solid numbers. So, the plans ended up being for naught.
More:
“We were obviously surprised. If we’d known it was coming, we probably wouldn’t have ended the series on a cliffhanger,” the trio shared. But they also feel there’s a lot to be proud of when it comes to the show they did make.
“We did what we set out to do. We created a show with a strong female lead and a cast that reflected the diversity of Hawai’i and the world. We told interesting Navy crime stories. All while maintaining a workplace where people could hopefully do their best work and be valued for it. That gives us a lot to be proud of.”
NCIS: Hawai’i is available to stream on Paramount+.

Her first marriage was to Canadian actor and musician Coyote Shivers. They got married in 2000 but separated four years later, with their divorce finalized in 2006. People reported that Perette was granted a permanent restraining order against Shivers as the court found his actions toward the actress as “frightening,” calling it “stalking.” When Shivers violated the restraining order twice, he was arrested and sentenced to 90 days in prison.

A few years after Perrette’s split, she dated and became engaged to cameraman Michael Bosman around 2008. When marriage equality finally became a constitutional right in 2014, Perrette still decided not to get married. “He said, ‘The choice is that we can marry now, but it doesn’t mean we have to.’ Likewise, Thomas and I are superhappy as we are, so… just because we can marry doesn’t mean we have to!” she told CBS Watch Magazine in May 2016.
