League Types
A more “social” division for individuals and friends who are just looking to play and have fun, with the emphasis not always on winning.

Eligibility
Onlyfull-time, current UB Studentsare eligible to participate in Intramural Sports.
- All playersmusthave a valid UB Student ID Card at all games.

IMLeagues is a website specifically designed for college intramural sports departments. A few of thefeatures include online sign-up and scheduling, customizable team pages, message boards, and much more.
We utilize IMLeagues.com to register and schedule our Intramural Sports leagues.
All intramural participants are required to create an account onIMLeagues.com using your buffalo.edu email.
- Go tohttp://www.imleagues.com/Schools/buffalo/registration.
- Enter your informationusing yourschool e-mail address(@buffalo.edu) and submit your information.
- If you do not have an (@buffalo.edu) email address, you may use your own and await approval from the Director for Intramural Sports.
- Check yourschool e-mail accountfor a confirmation email.
- Make sure to check yourspamfolder too if the e-mail is not in yourinbox.
- If you do not receive the e-mail with your temporary password, addinfo@imleagues.comto your list of contacts.
- Go back tohttp://www.imleagues.com/ForgetPassword.aspxand enter yourschool e-mail addressto have your password re-sent to yourschool e-mail address.
- Log intoimleagues.comby clicking on the link at the bottom of the e-mail. You will be prompted to change your password upon your first login.
- After changing your password, the University at Buffalo school link will pop-up.

How to Register a Team
After creating an IMLeagues account, you will be able to register and/or join a team.
One has the ability to create a team; form a name, choose a team color, add players, communicate with head officials, and carry the responsibility of the team, etc.
Captains can invite members to their team in two ways:
- If student hasalready registeredon imleagues:
- Click the “Invite Members” link on the team page
- Search for their name
- Invite them
- If student hasnot yet registeredon imleagues:
- Click the “Invite Members” link on the team page
- Click the “Can’t find someone? Click here to invite by email address”
- Input the students UB email address
Pay online through IMLeagues.Your roster does not have to be complete to pay.
One typically accepts an email invitation, via IMLeagues, from the captain. This completes the process of officially joining a team. Or your could request to join:

Accepting a request:
- Accept the request from the captain to join their team
One is interested in playing the sport but does not have a set team. A free agent is able to set up a player profile that will be seen by teams who are looking for more players. Captains and free agents may communicate to find the right fit and join the roster for the semester.
*It is strongly recommended that teams also appoint a co-captain. Captains and co-captains may be re-assigned at any time.
Cost
$95/team:Payment is made by the captain through the IMLeagues website.
The only way to secure your teams desired time slot in the league is to submit payment. Your team roster does not have to be complete to make payment.
Work for Intramural Sports: Become an Official
Intramural Sports Officials are the most important ingredient in the Recreation Intramural Sports Program.They must possess excellent knowledge of the rules and officiating procedures, ensuring fair play and handling challenging situations impartially. If you're interested in becoming an official or scorekeeper, you'll need to complete mandatory training sessions for your specific sport to learn the rules and procedures thoroughly. Join us as an official and be an integral part of the action!
Available Positions
Join us as an Intramural Sports Official! Officiate a variety of team sports, including Flag Football, Basketball, Dodgeball, Soccer, Volleyball, and more. Work under the supervision of the Student Head Official and Assistant Director for Intramurals (ADI.) Mandatory training and evaluation sessions ensure top-notch officiating. Seasonal employment with flexible scheduling based on weekly evaluations. Embrace your passion for sports and create an exceptional playing experience for all participants!
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pre-Game
- Assist in equipment setup for evening and/or weekend activities.
- Collect student ID's of Intramural Teams.
- Examine facility for safety hazards.
- Monitor team rosters and ensure rule compliance during contests.
- Game Time
- Understand house and national rules for officiating.
- Wear appropriate attire (Official jerseys provided).
- Ensure a safe, fun, and competitive game atmosphere.
- Address arguments and trash-talking promptly.
- Keep score as required by the Intramural Head Official.
- Post-Game
- Help complete necessary forms.
- Assist in closing down the facility and collecting equipment after activities.
- Secure the facility after Intramural activities.
- Maintain regular communication with the Head Official or ADI regarding any team, player, or staff issues.
Knowledge/Skills Required
- Eligibility: Full-time students in good standing.
- Experience: Participation and Sports Officiating preferred but not required.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of UB Intramurals Policies and Procedures and the specific sports being officiated.
- Physical Ability: Capable of keeping up with the sports being officiated.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills.
The Head Official position serves the vital role of supervising intramural team sports, encompassing flag football, volleyball, indoor soccer, outdoor soccer, basketball, and various other activities. As Supervisors, their responsibility extends to maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for all intramural participants while offering assistance to the professional staff as necessary. Attendance at mandatory supervisors, officials, and captains meetings is obligatory. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Intramurals (ADI,) this student supervising position offers a semester-based employment opportunity for qualified candidates.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pre-Game
- Arrive early to set up the facility for the intramural activity.
- Pick up daily game sheets and keys.
- Bring first aid kit to the event.
- Check out equipment to participants.
- Assist in setting up equipment.
- Examine the facility for safety hazards.
- Sign in intramural teams and verify eligibility.
- Ensure participants sign liability waivers.
- Assign intramural officials to partners and field/court assignments.
- Act as a resource and service person for participants.
- Complete required forms.
- Confirm event status in case of cancellation.
- Game Time
- Anticipate and oversee intramural contests to ensure safety and participation.
- Provide training and support to intramural officials.
- Handle any issues with spectators, coaches, or players.
- Complete necessary forms during events.
- Offer First Aid and CPR for injured participants, reporting incidents to the Intramural Assistant.
- Resolve disagreements and maintain control during games.
- Implement emergency training plans.
- Enforce university policies.
- Post-Game
- Assist with form completion.
- Help store equipment after the intramural activity.
- Submit paperwork and keys at the end of the day/night.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills Required
- Previous experience in intramural sports program.
- General knowledge of recreational sports programs.
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Genuine interest in serving students.
- Availability for afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Thorough knowledge of Intramural Sports policies and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of the sport being supervised.
- Proficiency in officiating Intramural Sports.
- Professional handling of difficult situations.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

Intramural Sports Flag Football Officials
Once you are hired you must read and sign the Intramural Employee Handbook which contains policies and procedures you will be expected to follow as part of your employment.
You must also attend the Official Training Sessionsand officiate for pre-season games.
